Managing kit specificationsSome of your item masters are goods that you purchase directly from your vendors. You may have other item masters that you produce on site, using components or raw materials that you have on hand. If you want to produce an item, you must first create a kit specification for that item. Kit specifications describe how to assemble a quantity of a product (item master). Each specification includes the component items and their quantities and the output item and its quantity, as well as any by-product items and quantities. If a particular item master is not a product of a kit specification, then you cannot create a kit order for that item. You can create an arbitrary number of kit specifications for the same output product. For example, you may have one item master for "small gift basket", but you may sometimes create gift baskets using chocolate chip cookies and sometimes using peanut butter cookies. You can create two kit specifications for "small gift basket" and use different component items in each specification. You can create, edit, and delete kit specifications. Once you have set up your kit specifications, you can create kit orders and produce your own item masters based on your component parts. | ||||||
