Cycle count on a mobile device

A cycle count is an inventory management procedure for physically counting a subset of inventory, along with the definition of that subset of inventory.

In SmartTurn, the subsets of inventory to be used in cycle counts are created using inventory managers.

To cycle count:

  1. Click Inventory>Cycle Count from the main page.
  2. From the Cycle Count Menu, select Cycle Count from Managers to create a new cycle count from an inventory manager. On the Find Cycle Count Manager page, select the manager to cycle count from. To find an inventory manager in the list, enter all or part of the Name.

    OR

    Select Resume Cycle Count to find an existing Saved or In Progress cycle count. On the Find Cycle Count page, select the cycle count to resume. To find a cycle count in the list, enter all or part of the Cycle Count #.

  3. In either case, the Perform cycle count screen appears.
  4. Select a Description link to see the item.

    If the list is too long, click Find Item. Scan, click, or enter the Item ID, Product ID, Description, or Lot # to filter the list. Then select a Description link from the filtered list to see the item. Optionally, view the data for custom fields or measurements for this item by clicking Custom Fields or View Measurements, respectively.

  5. Enter the Counted Quantity.
  6. Click Save to to save your cycle count line and execute any inventory adjustments at a later time. The line is now Verified.

    OR

    Click Count to immediately adjust inventory. The amount is updated to the Counted Quantity and the line is now Closed. The line is no longer editable.

  7. Select the next item to cycle count.
  8. To add additional items to your cycle count, click Adjust from zero. Select an item to add from the list. The Add Item page appears.
    • Enter the Counted Quantity.
    • If needed, change the Putaway UoM. By default, inventory items are putaway (stored) in their Standard Unit.
    • If your operation requires it, view or enter data for the measurements of the item (Cube, Dim Wt, Pallets) by clicking Edit Measurements. View or enter the required data, then click OK.
    • If your operation requires it, view or enter data for a custom field by clicking Custom Fields. The Custom Fields screen appears. View or enter the required data, then click OK.
  9. Click Save to save your cycle count and execute any inventory adjustments at a later time.

    Click Soft Allocate to reserve the remaining uncounted items and prevent other warehouse operations from working with them.

    Click Count Verified to execute any inventory adjustments for all of the items you have saved (Verified).
